I was born on Feb.9, 1950 and raised in Chicago, IL, with both of my parents being believers. I was born again by God’s grace in Chicago in 1959. As our family was always faithful in church and service unto the Lord, my Dad was called to preach in 1956, and surrendered to the ministry then, and started a Baptist Church in Chicago, which he pastored for 35 years. As I grew up, I began teaching a youth class at the age of 17, and have been faithfully teaching the Word since.
The Lord brought a wonderful godly woman, Janet, from West Virginia into my life through our church, and we were wed on June 28, 1969, and have spent 52 wonderful years together serving the Lord. We do not have children, but have “spiritually adopted” many over the years, and continue to mentor young people in the ways of God.
Some think that the only way they can live for God is by becoming pastors, or missionaries, but then many would be excluded from any opportunity of spiritual usefulness. It is God’s grace that enabled me to serve Him in and through my profession as a Chiropractor in active practice for 35 years. God was, and is glorified in our professions as He speaks in and through us, and we have been privileged to help many come to Christ through our practice, as we were able to help them physically and spiritually.
I retired from full time practice in 2005 and God led us to Kimberling City, MO, on Table Rock Lake, where we serve in a local Baptist Church, and have been actively involved in sending God’s printed Word throughout the world. This is how we became acquainted with Preach Evangelistic Ministries and Dr. Paul Pritchard and his family, and consider them to be some of our dearest friends and adopted family.
During my years of service to Him, God has permitted me to continually teach His Word in every church we have been a part of, and to travel to other churches and venues to speak on various topics, from healthcare to finances. What a pleasure that has been.
It is not a lofty pulpit, but God is glorified when we serve Him in our varied vocations, 1st Corinthians 7:20. Every profession and calling may be sanctified by the Gospel to noblest ends. That is our desire as we teach and serve, that we will fill our present sphere for God’s Global Glory.
