15 Jan Phillip & Sarah Pritchard Prayer Letter November – December 2017
Would you invite someone to church if it meant five to twelve years in prison? This is the question weighing upon the minds of hundreds of thousands of Christians in Bolivia and other neighboring countries. My heart is saddened and filled with joy. Why? Because God is moving, He is sovereignly working all things for the Glory of His name. He is allowing evil men to heat up the furnace, all that is left is for three of Gods children to stand and give testimony to the “fourth” who is like the Son of God.
I have always believed that such events are meant to spur us, His children and His church, into action. As we work here in Cape Verde, my spirit desires to be amongst the persecuted and afflicted. It also makes me see the terseness of our time. “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” John 9:4
This, I pray, becomes the mantra of the church in the coming age. The day is coming when we His children will sup with him in eternal joy, but millions and billions have yet to hear, yet to know Jesus. What have we done this week to help someone to know and see Him. If your answer is nothing, know that the night is coming.
We praise the Lord for the conversion of three souls this past month. I love to see God save a sinner. Words, preaching, teaching and doctrine become spirit, truth and life. A soul brought to life in Christ. Transformed by His saving power. Pray for these individuals and others like them as they grow in the Lord.
February 23rd and 24th mark the days for our marriage and family conference. We are hosting this event at a hotel right outside of the capitol city. We are planning on 15-20 couples attending. Our hope is for each and every family to build their marriage and family upon the sure foundation of God’s Word. The strength and permanence of the church here in Cape Verde and by extension the preaching of the Gospel depends upon solid church families. When homes are subverted, nations are sieged. We ask for your help in the cost of this event. We need $2500.00 for lodging, food and transportation of the families for this two day event. We are praying God will do great things in each heart.
Training of Bro. Clovis and Bro. Edson is going well. These two men are to be, if God wills, the national leadership for the church plant here in Praia. We are planning to start working from a home to home basis in the next few weeks. We ask for your prayers as each lesson is taught, for every time the Gospel is preached, for every song that’s sung, for each soul that’s saved, that God will build His church.
We have a substantial ministry need. We are in need of a passenger van. We are currently working amongst three churches, seminary and soon to be MMM program. This has created logistical strain. A strain that does not appear to subside anytime soon. We are on a weekly basis carrying 8-10 people to church an hour away in a Honda Civic. We are trying to sell our current vehicle to purchase another, however, with the multiple ministries having an additional one would only be an added asset. Please pray with us about this need and others mentioned.
Lord willing next week we will receive after nine months of paper work our residency visas. Thank you to all who have helped and prayed for us. As in all things we thank our Lord always for you and your steadfast support of the ministry and our family. May God Bless you for His purposes.
For His Glory
Phillip Pritchard and Family
We pray your Christmas was full of celebration for our Lord and that your New Year yields much fruit for our Savior!
Tons of Truth is the shipping facet of Preach Evangelistic Ministries. We have set a goal of shipping 112 tons of scripture over the next year. Each ton costs $800.00. Currently 108 tons still need to be provided for. These containers will be going to Cape Verde, Brazil, and Bolivia. Please visit our website for more info on how to give and help us with this goal.
What a privilege it was to ordain these two men, Charles Texiera and Julio Nanque into the ministry. Please Pray for these men as God continues to use them in Cape Verde for His purposes.
We are four weeks away from the Kidd family arriving here in Cape Verde. Pray for the next seven months (February through August) as we labor together. Bro. Josh and Mrs. Jenny Kidd are completing their one year Mentoring Men for Mission internship. We are excited to be a part of their training and preparation for the task of cross -cultural missions.
