14 Jul Kidd Family Prayer Letter – July 2020
Dear Friends and Co-Laborers in Christ,
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 While I don’t always understand God’s ways, I do know that His ways are far better than my ways. God is teaching our family this lesson yet again. We were scheduled to leave for Cape Verde on July 2nd and just a couple days prior to that Cape Verde announced that they would not be reopening their borders. We were all set to go: barrels were packed, suitcases were packed, household items sold/given away, vehicle sold, house rented out, etc…we were ready to go! But, God’s plans are different than ours.
At this time, based on the little information we are able to get from the Cape Verdean government, it looks as though the borders will be closed into the Fall. We do not know exactly when it will be, but we will replan our departure after the borders open up. In the meantime, we will stay in a mission’s apartment at our church and use this time as a gift from God to visit more churches and share what God has called us to do. Our monthly support level is at 68% so we will strive to increase that percentage over the coming months. Also, we desire to be active at Preach Evangelistic Ministries’ home office as there is much work to be accomplished there.
We are still in the midst of a great renovation project at our home office. A nearby business has offered some building materials at an extremely reduced price. These materials are needed for the student housing for our Mentoring Men for Missions training school. If you or your church would like to have a part in this project which will enable more families to be properly trained for the battlefield called foreign missions, we would greatly appreciate it. Any gifts can be sent to: Preach, PO Box 750, Seymour, MO 65746 and note “Building Fund” on the memo line. At this time, we have an immediate need of $18,140 to be able to purchase these reduced building materials.
We thank you for your continued prayer on our behalf. We are trusting God to guide our steps and know that He has allowed our schedule to be interrupted, thus, it is His desire for us at this time. We ask that you continue to pray for those missionaries who are currently serving on foreign soil as the results of the COVID-19 restrictions they face are far more severe than what we face here in the USA.
In His Service,
The Kidd Family
