05 Feb Kidd Family Prayer Letter – February 2020
Dear Friends and Co-Laborers in Christ,
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Eph 5:16 This verse has been on my mind much lately, for the days truly are waxing more and more evil. Also, on a personal level, as our family has much to do in a short amount of time. We are still committed to our May 14th departure for Cape Verde, Africa.
God has been so good to us…we have been blessed to see many get right with God, commit to being a more faithful witness for Him, and some fully surrender to God’s will for their life in the area of missions. What a joy and privilege it is to be used of God and be able to witness these things.
In consideration of our upcoming departure, I will focus this letter on 3 areas of our financial needs. Yes, my God owns the cattle on a thousand hills, but it is through His faithful servants that He meets our financial needs. First, we need more regular support (monthly, quarterly, etc). There is no amount that is too small to give because as we read in Matthew 14 regarding the miracle involving 5 loaves and 2 fishes, a small amount given to and through our great God is multiplied. Second, we have several expenses related to our departure and arrival in Cape Verde. Some of these are: Visas—$1750; Rent Deposit—$1000; Homeschool materials (2yrs) —$2300; Furniture—$8800; Airfare—$3335; Utility Deposits—$2500; Major Appliances— $3600 for a total of $23,285. Of this amount, we are still in need of $16,050. I realize some of these amounts seem high, but that is the nature of the economy in Cape Verde. Third, we would like to purchase a passenger van for the ministry to be used to bring people to the church services. We have received some funds toward this purchase, but still need approximately $33,000 for this (Vehicles, new and used, are very expensive in Cape Verde).
The Holy Spirit laid it on our hearts to just trust Him and go to Cape Verde. Our airfare has been purchased and we are obeying that leading in our lives and are trusting God’s people to also follow His leading, however it may be, in these matters. All that our family does is done with John 3:30 in mind. He must increase, but I must decrease.
Joyfully In His Service,
The Kidd Family
