Kidd Family Prayer Letter – April 2020

Dear Friends and Co-Laborers in Christ,

An Update From The Kidd Family

These are surely some interesting times we are living in. I am continually reminded of Isaiah 6:1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. That was a very tumultuous time for the nation of Israel…yet God was on the throne!! We have that same assurance today. God IS on the throne!

We have had several people ask us if we have changed our plans due to COVID-19. The simple answer is “No, we have not.” Things are changing so quickly right now that it would not be prudent for us to develop a contingency plan because those plans may not be relevant in a week or two. At this point, we will continue on with our current plan to leave on May 14th and trust in God to confirm or revise those plans. We were told a while back that being a missionary requires more than just being flexible, it requires being fluid. We have certainly learned that along our way and will continue to apply that to whatever God brings our way. We ask that you pray with us that things will settle down so that we can proceed with a May 14th departure.

Currently Cape Verde is not allowing anyone to come into the country, so that will need to
change in order for us to go.

Prior to the restrictions on group meetings, we had the privilege to present the ministry in churches in FL, AR, and MO. We thank God for each opportunity we are given to share what God has called our family to do. We ask that you continue to pray for more partners in the work of our Lord. We need financial partners but also laboring partners. God has opened many opportunities for Preach Evangelistic Ministries to spread the Gospel in various countries throughout the world, but we need laborers. Through the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ, His only prayer request that He shared with His disciples is this: Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest. Luke 10:2 If praying for laborers was important to Jesus Christ, it should be important for us also. There are many throughout the churches in America who know that God wants to use them in missions, but they are resisting that calling on their life. Please pray that they will open their heart to God’s purpose for their life.

Thank you for your faithful prayers for our family. We ask that when you pray for us, that you also pray for the people of Cape Verde that God would soften their hearts and that they would be receptive to the hearing of His Word.

In His Service,
The Kidd Family
