23 Aug Kidd Family August Prayer Letter
Dear Friends and Co-Laborers in Christ,
I apologize for the delay in getting this letter to you. We have had a whirlwind of activity since we returned to the United States.
God’s faithfulness has abounded toward us in so many ways. Not just financially, but with encouragement and prayer from fellow believers, sweet fellowship with others, good health, and many many other ways.
We have officially begun our deputation!! We started almost immediately after returning to the US. Our family arrived in PA on July 7th and have done what we could to hit the ground running. We were honored to be the missionaries for a VBS, participated in a Missions Conference, and have visited some churches, 2 of which were newer church plants. It is exciting for us to see Christians here still concerned about their Judaea, and Samaria. So often as churches we focus on our Jerusalem and the uttermost parts of the earth, but we neglect our responsibility to reach Judaea and Samaria.
While we are quite happy to see our friends and family here in the US, our hearts ache for our friends and ministry partners that we left behind in Cape Verde. We have met with Dr. Paul Pritchard, Founder/Director of Preach Evangelistic Ministries, and developed our budget for on-field expenses. We also discussed our goal for a time to return to Cape Verde. Our goal is ambitious, but it is one placed on our hearts by God Almighty. We are aiming to be fully funded by the end of 2019. That gives us 16 1/2 months to raise the rest of our needed support. As I call churches, I have been told that this goal is unattainable. My only reply is that I must serve a bigger God than they do. Please pray for the leading of the Holy Spirit as I call and we visit churches that I will be able to adequately convey the burden and calling God has placed on our lives. Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” The great overpowering desire that God has placed on our heart is to serve Him among the people of Cape Verde.
Below is a picture of some of those we will be serving with when we return.
We thank you all for your fervent prayers on our behalf. Without that, we could not have made it this far. We ask that you continue to pray for our safety as we travel and for God to lead in the various meetings that we have. The end goal is for God to be glorified.
Also, we would ask that you pray for Dr. Paul Pritchard. He is currently in the hospital with a very serious internal infection. The doctors are doing what they can, but we are asking for God’s healing power. Please take time today and for the next several days to lift him up before our Omnipotent God.
