11 Dec Kidd Bits…an update from the Kidd Family – December 2017
Dear Fellow Co-Laborers in Christ,
As we near the end of 2017, we approach the Christmas season. For many, this is their favorite time of year. Let us not get caught up with the celebration and lose sight of what we are actually celebrating. Christ Jesus left His home in Heaven to live among mankind. Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” This Great God of ours lowered Himself to the status of a human so that He could suffer the penalty for yours and my sin. Philippians 2:8 “And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Christ did not have to die for us, but He chose to. Now THAT is truly something to celebrate!! Enjoy your time with family and friends, but please take time to thank God for the most wonderful gift of all.
Our classes here in Seymour, MO are nearing an end. We have just 2 more weeks left. Each week of classes has been such a blessing to us and an opportunity to further grow in our walk with Christ together as a family. We have also had various opportunities to serve Him in different capacities. Recently I had the privilege to preach at Ozark Correction Center and this coming week we will be participating in revival meeting at a nearby church. We are looking forward to God’s moving in those services. Our oldest, Carissa, and I had the opportunity to take a trip to deliver an item removed from the building as part of the renovation. We made our delivery in Albany, KY and then continued on to Blountville, TN to pick up 11 pallets (22,000 lbs) of John & Romans from Volunteer Seedline that will be headed on the next container to Cape Verde, Africa. Praise God for churches who see the need to spread His Word throughout the world!!
We will head back to Shinglehouse, PA for Christmas and take care of some medical needs while there. Lord willing, we will only be in PA for a few weeks and then begin our journey to Cape Verde, Africa. The total cost of this 1 year training program for our family is approximately $46,500. This includes the training, our living expenses here in MO, living expenses in Cape Verde, and airfare. We are striving to live on a shoestring budget to be proper stewards of God’s money. Through our own personal investment and the generosity of several individuals, families, and churches, we have raised about 2/3 of our needed funds. As of this letter, we still need approximately $14,000 before we can depart for Cape Verde. God knows, and He will provide the necessary funds when He is ready for us to go. Our part is to be ready to go and to be diligent in attaining these funds. Please pray for God’s provision in this matter. We have seen God provide and meet our needs (and some wants) in ways that we never expected and He can do it again.
Thank you for continually lifting us up in prayer. Satan would love to see us get distracted or discouraged and not continue on the task that God has called us to accomplish. Please also pray that God would prepare the hearts of people we will come in contact with, both here in the USA and in Cape Verde as we are to “be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Our heart’s desire is that “this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations;” MT 24:14, to achieve God’s Global Glory.
In Christ’s service,
Josh, Jenny, Carissa, Elizabeth, Robert, Sarah, Natalie, & Carver
