28 Jan Fundraising Letter January 2020
Dear Pastors and Friends,
As you have heard, my health hasn’t been the greatest the last year and a half. The open heart 3-way bypass surgery was, and still is, quite an ordeal in my everyday life and ministry. It has been a long road. I do sincerely need the prayers and participation of my friends just in getting the ministry momentum restored, our campus completed, our goals back on target, and all the vision fully funded.
However, and nonetheless, I haven’t failed to labor toward our goals of helping the Malawian, Brazilian and Bolivian churches this year as promised and always looking for ways to assist and strengthen the newest disciples as they often struggle in their newfound faith. Over the last several months we have been able to assemble a load of English and Chichewa scripture portions I had promised. I now have a complete load ready for Malawi.
That is approximately 20-22 tons.
Among these preparations are also some chairs for a church plant, a piano, pallets and pallets of new clothing, medical supplies, and several cases of new leather-bound study bibles to perhaps use as a giveaway in a two-week seminar of pastoral training. This training, Back to the Basics, in bible doctrines and creating the necessary networks of support structures that build autonomy and independence into the churches is a foundational and essential principle I seek to teach.
Frankly, I have barely been able to send out the last two projects to Cape Verde and Guinea Bissau, areas where I already have ongoing work and committed obligations. Committed means: I signed a protocol with the government to go into the public schools every year since 2005 that has mandated hundreds of tons of material and thousands upon thousands of dollars every year, rain or shine.
Two (2) other containers are also very close to ready (Brazil & Bolivia) for shipment, but again funds are desperately needed to proceed. In addition, my plan is to be in these countries this year in a planned church plant survey, organized leadership conferences, and other efforts that organize training camps for national pastors. Therefore, these materials logistically need to be sent now, ahead of time.
No time to delay!
Due to my health crisis, our personal finances and medical bills are really heavy for my wife and I, even to do all this travel. In addition, the inability to travel and raise funds has hampered my efforts in fundraising all around.
So, please let me be direct in sharing what our plans are, but also direct in asking you to partner with us now to put all the 2020 goals in motion. Whether God has blessed to where we can partner together on this tremendous outreach opportunity is the reason I write.
We have prepared, translated, organized, and have done enormous amounts of work here stateside and abroad which has now poised us now for our commitments and work in the field. Will you now simply give the resources to connect the men to the material?
Also, I have wanted us to sit down again and talk about several ideas God has given me about strengthening the local church in the field through a unique strategy here at PREACH.
Hope to hear from you soon. God Bless!
PS. I’m in West Africa now for two more weeks and would ask your prayers on our ministries here also.
For God’s Global Glory,
Dr Paul Pritchard Jr
