The People We Seek

Over 240 million in number, the people of this language group span halfway around the globe from the mighty Amazon River in Brazil to the highlands of East Timor. Spoken in 9 countries covering over 4 million square miles on 4 different continents, the Portuguese language finds itself in a variety of diverse cultures and lifestyles.

But despite these many differences of nationality and traditional customs, the spiritual state of the Portuguese-speaking people is all but the same. Islam, Catholicism, and ancestral worship have bound them in fear and meaningless ritual for thousands of years. Their traditional practices and beliefs have fashioned their lives into an empty struggle for existence.

As the population of the world crests over six billion people, it has become critical to reverse this downward trend of our mission efforts and return to the Biblical method that Christ intended for his church to follow in accomplishing the highest task with which he has entrusted it.
