We hope that this letter finds you and yours all doing well. Sarah and I think of you often and thank the Lord for you. As we returned to Cape Verde we have been very encouraged and also reminded that our adversary is at work.
There is a sister in the Church named Silvia, who six months ago accepted Christ. She has started the discipleship program in the church and is growing greatly in the Lord. Following her conversion her family has informed her that she is no longer welcome at home, and they would no longer be sharing her company. She boldly stated,” to follow Christ was to abandon all else.” Sometimes this is easier to say than live. Please pray for her as she faces much more persecution for her decision in Christ.
With Silvia’s testimony it reminds me that with every brick laid for the Kingdom of God, Satan and his hosts rage warfare against it. We have seen some seed appear to flourish but soon withered away because of the cares of this world. We can also praise the Lord for those seeds that remain, grow, and strengthen in Christ. We must be aware that for all our effort the adversary will not let it go unmatched. This must be a reason to deepen our resolve to further the Glory of God.
Upcoming for the ministry in C.V.:
Around the second week of July we will be taking a 40 foot container out of port. This process always has the potential for problems. Please pray for the Lord’s guiding hand and that all will go smoothly and efficiently.
August 30th marks the first day of classes for the Seminario Baptista de Teologia (Baptist Theological Seminary). Many things are being prepared, and we are looking forward to the fruit that it will produce. Pray that the Lord sends men for training that will result in the furtherance of the ministry in the Portuguese speaking nations of the world.
Sarah and I are joyfully awaiting the arrival of our son in October. Please pray for Sarah as the baby develops and when the time comes for delivery that the Lord will bless and protect.
Once again thank you for all that you do for us and the cause of Christ. We thank you.
